But what about the other 50 weeks a year? The term “computer vision syndrome” (CVS) describes a group of eye and vision-related problems that result from prolonged computer use. Symptoms of CVS include headaches, tired, dry, or burning eyes, blurred vision, and neck pain. These symptoms may be caused by poor lighting, glare from the computer screen or overhead lighting, poor seating posture, uncorrected vision problems (especially hyperopia, astigmatism, or presbyopia), and/or improper viewing distances. Optometrists Brighid Williams, Kerry Giedd, and Nicole Beedle used one simple philosophy in developing the new Eola Eyes location. Their business was founded upon the mission of treating others the way they would want to be treated and, in relocating to Mills Avenue, they strived to design and build an office environment where they could best execute this mission. They wanted to build an office that was chic yet warm and welcoming, a place patients enjoyed coming and where they would receive the best quality and service. The doctors did not anticipate that by applying this “Golden Rule” Eola Eyes would receive so much local and national recognition.
